This mockup is a guide for the studio. Dried flowers shrink, and the finished piece is designed from the blooms you send. It will not match this layout petal for petal.

The process

From bouquet to keepsake

    Step 1

    Tell me about your flowers

    A phone photo, a florist mock-up, or just a description is enough. I reply with shape, price, and whether to post or drop off.

    Reserve your date

    A non-refundable £50 keeps your place in the studio diary. You can still choose the piece after this, and the £50 comes off it.

    Step 3

    Order and pay in full

    Order your piece and pay in full. If you have already held a date, the £50 comes off it. Two weeks before your event the shape is set.

    Dry, design, cast

    Now taking orders for 2026/2027/2028. I dry the blooms, design the piece, and pour the resin myself.

How to pack your flowers

A simple five-step guide so your blooms arrive safely, whether you post with Royal Mail or drop them at the studio.

Book your collection

Book your collection in advance of your special day or event with Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed before 9am.

Or drop them off in person if you are local to Cambridgeshire, or at my secure studio location. Please let me know your preferred method in advance so I can accommodate your needs.

Note: Royal Mail will not deliver on Sundays. If your wedding is Friday–Sunday, drop them off.

Choose your box

Find a box roughly 61 × 46 × 46 cm (Royal Mail dimensions), depending on the size and shape of your flowers. I do recommend a cardboard florist vase.

It must also be under 2 kg for Royal Mail, or check your chosen courier’s weight restrictions.

If you are physically unable to drop off the flowers, please speak to me directly. I can usually arrange something when given enough notice.

Fill the void spaces

Pack the void areas around the base of your box using newspaper or old paper. This prevents rocking during transportation.

!Please only use paper. Never cover with plastic or cellophane. This will cause your blooms to sweat and rot, and I may be unable to work with them if this happens.

Prepare & place your flowers

Sit them in a vase with water until you are ready to transport. Do not include the vase or water in the delivery box. I am unable to return it, it makes the box heavy, and the blooms will flop.

Moisten (not soaking wet) paper towels.

Wrap around the base of the stems and secure with an elastic band.

Wrap over the wet towel with foil and secure with an elastic band.

Place in your paper vase in the centre of your box.

Or prop with balls of newspaper if you don’t have a paper vase.

If the package feels loose once the lid is closed, pack around some more so petals don’t shake off.

Final steps: label, seal & send

Include your name and contact details on a piece of paper. If you do not add this I may not know which flowers belong to whom. This is essential, because I begin drying as soon as I receive them, and some flowers have to be dried flat and some in 3D.

Hi, I’m Takara.

My story

Hi, I’m Takara.

I’m Takara, a flower preservationist working from my home studio in Cambridgeshire. I preserve blooms from special events such as wedding, funerals, christenings, baby showers, graduations, retirements....the list goes on!

My style of arrangement is a full look, I like to visually experience nature as it is meant to be; often wild, unruly and resistant to being forced to conform.

Most of my current art is resin but I will be launching dried 3D frames soon in a variety of forms. I am perfecting the craftmanship at the moment and will always try to launch a new product year on year. I honestly believe art is limited by imagination and therefore if you have extra imagination we can share it with all those around us. Thats where inspiration is often found. So watch this space!

I have been working with flowers my whole life and starting this company as a resin artist felt very natural. I have pressed, grown, arranged and drawn flowers for over 15 years. The progression into the owner of Petal and Bloom Studio has therefore just become a natural next step.

I am a very open, chatty and empathetic person and I will be just as excited as you about preserving your flowers. I can honestly say I am not a corporate production line, I specifically set this studio up to be a place where people CAN express their creative wishes, where they can channel their happiest or most special memories into a timeless piece of art to enjoy for the remainder of this beautiful life. I do offer "consultations", but really that's just a chat over a cup or tea or coffee! I get a far greater understanding of what you need, want and what is possible by talking about your vision, of course I will lend my experience into the process because my greatest goal is to help your vision be brought to life in a way YOU want it to be (and hopefully be better than expected!)
